Traditional approaches to supporting LGD leave most commercial lenders facing one of two options; (a) either invest heavily in personnel, consulting, software and on-going operations expenses to build a bespoke LGD management system (while often sophisticated, these are rarely very agile), or (b) operate the lending business without robust LGD management and risk both limiting the lender’s ability to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace, and increasing the lender’s required liquidity reserves. Lack of automation will also result in significant regulatory compliance workloads.
